November Student of the Month

"When the music changes, so does the dance." - African Proverb Thanksgiving is approaching us, and the holidays are near! We'd like to introduce our Student of the Month, Benny! He's a first grader at Lone Oak Elementary School and studies with Brittney Washam. He has been playing since July, but shows great excitement and improvement constantly. He started playing because he thought it would be fun; after four months, he still thinks it is! His favorite piece so far is the "Can-Can." In addition to playing the violin, Benny likes to read big books about science with his dad....

September Student of the Month

"Music is the poetry of the air." - Jean Paul Richter Summer is winding down, and we're back to school! We're happy to announce our student of the month, Jenna. Jenna is home-schooled and is in the 6th grade. She has been playing violin for five years, and studies with both Kathy Gardner and Josh Coffey. Her favorite music to play is classical, especially from the Suzuki method. Her favorite piece is the Bach Concerto for Two Violins. "Music is the universal language of mankind." -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow We have reached the month of August, and we're excited to announce our student of the month, Loren! She is a seventh grader at St. Mary Middle School, and has been playing the viola for a little less than a year. Loren originally became interested in strings in elementary school while watching the advanced orchestra play during mass. "Those who wish to sing always find a song" -Swedish Proverb June is upon us, and we are so happy to present our new student of the month, Scout! Scout attends Lone Oak Middle School. She has been playing cello since December and takes lessons from Brittney Washam here at Symphony Supply. Scout was intrigued with cello after watching the movie, "If I Stay," where she heard a cello being played and instantly wanted to learn for herself.
